Rolf Sturm

Biography

Rolf Sturm has been a NYC area guitarist since 1984. His playing can be heard on over 60 recordings. He has either performed with or appeared on recordings that feature: Roswell Rudd, Billy Martin, Eddy Arnold, Anthony Braxton, Tony Trischka, David Johansen, Archie Shepp, Jorma Kaukonen, Tom Constanten, John Medeski, Catherine Russell, Heather Masse, and Jenna Mammina. 

Rolf has toured extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe, including performances at dozens of jazz, jam band/rock, folk, and blues festivals. He has also performed at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. and on soundtracks for both film and television. Rolf’s solo acoustic guitar recording “Balance” received 4 stars in DownBeat Magazine.
